The Student Experience as a Learner
The last submission included little detail on the student experience as a learner, as a large number of respondents to the survey had not used the services available. The recommendations for action from the 2004 audit*, composed by the University’s Office for Quality and Validation, do highlight a number of areas which the auditors suggested could be improved including Library resources, accessibility of services on all campuses and to part-time students and the variability and effectiveness of PASS. The University has taken action in all of these areas and the results from the Information Services Survey 2007 demonstrate the improvements which have been made in this area have led to increased student satisfaction. Students who attended the focus group to discuss student support reported difficulty accessing services on campus despite holding the services in high regard. There still appears to be disparity with PASS although improvements have been made since the last audit.
