The STMS Faculty scored the lowest of the three faculties for timetabling and the Faculty addressed this in their NSS response paper, noting that the issue in large was due to the need for high contact hours and practical workshops which reduced flexibility in timetabling. Whilst the Faculty are limited by this factor a number of departments have taken measures to improve timetabling for students. The Electronics Department has developed a new student portal which delivers a personalised weekly timetable tied to the SMS service. Similarly the Physical Science Department reported that it would alert timetable changes via text messaging.
