The University of Kent Prospectus
The University of Kent prospectus is a key tool which helps future students decide which university they want to study at. Kent Union was unable to find any feedback from students in a university-wide survey regarding how accurately the prospectus portrayed the University. The Kent Union Satisfaction Survey conducted in March 2008 asked students if they thought the prospectus was accurate. The results indicate that three quarters of respondents believed that the prospectus does provide an accurate reflection of what studying at the University of Kent is really like. In the additional comments box a number of different reasons were cited as to why students did not think the prospectus was accurate, a commonly cited reason was that accommodation on campus was not portrayed accurately, either the quality of it or the cost*. The 2008 prospectus failed to accurately communicated changes to policy regarding student car parking, an updated prospectus was sent out to rectify the originally omission. It is encouraging that three quarters of this small sample thought that the prospectus accurately reflects the University of Kent. However, the University should look into the area that students do not feel are correctly represented and adjust the prospectus accordingly in order to inform future students correctly.
