Module Evaluation
Currently, all students have to complete module evaluation forms during the second half of the teaching of a module and class time must be assigned to this (according to Annex M of the Code of Practice for Taught Programme). Kent Union welcomes the opportunity for students to anonymously share their experience of learning and teaching through this mechanism.
However, the Course Rep Survey suggests that 30% of representatives do not see the results from module evaluation at meetings of SSLCs*. This figure should be interpreted with caution as representatives may have missed meetings and may not have been aware of module evaluation on the agenda. That said, this is cause for concern as module evaluation provides an opportunity for students to comment and input on the learning experience at programme level. Departmental annual monitoring reports should be sent to Faculty Learning and Teaching Committees and made available for students to access.
