Do students have a voice in the institution and is it listened to?

joining hands

There are a number of mechanisms in place to ensure that the institution listens to the voice of students these include; feedback via surveys e.g. the National Student Survey, elected full and part-time representatives, department representatives and course representatives. Annex M of the Code of Practice for Quality for Taught Programmes of Study is concerned with the arrangements for obtaining the views of students on matters related to learning and teaching and for consideration of the views of students. It states:

“Departments should seek the views of students on each of the modules they have taken and consider feedback on the programme they have taken as obtained via the questionnaires administered centrally by the University and by the NSS. Departments should also establish one or more Student/Staff Liaison Committees”
